It's called a Cupcandle Cake Stand.....

The vintage plates used to make these cake stands are often older than great grandma. They are functional wares that were designed to be used and appreciated. Reclaimed vintage pieces do sometimes show signs of crazing and feint scratches or utensil marks on the surface. Usually the gold gilding on the edge is worn from decades of rubbing and cleaning. This age related wear is entirely authentic and adds character and charm to the piece. Well used is well loved. That's the true meaning of 'shabby chic'.

I trailed around a car boot sale in chiswick on a rainy sunday morning, but look what I found! Some beautiful vintage crockery. Having dashed home I spent a lovely afternoon with child No.2 making a lovely rose smelling cadle mix to put in my vintage tea cups. Having been inspired by the wonderful Pinterest I decided to make my cups and saucers into these fabulous cake stands.
I will post some pictures of the process and the materials I used for the candle mix but it was actually pretty simple!
I was so inspired I dashed of on monday morning at the crack of dawn (well almost!)to Twickenham where I'd been told there was a multitude of charity shops and bingo...
My hubster not to pleased at alarming levels of granny cups (his words) in our living room but hey it keeps me happy!
I love to custom make decoupage children's furniture.
They can be made from vintage comic books like Beano or Dandy for the boys or Vintage angels or fairies for the girls. Adult chairs can be Financial Times pink or old copies of Smash Hits or your
favourite teenage read.
What ever you fancy I can source and make for you. Some people like music scores or old dictionaries!! Its up to you but the results are stunning unique and personalised pieces. You just let
me know what you'd like and i'll do the rest!
